Let’s Focus on Food, Shall We?

In the spirit of the New Year (albeit a bit later than I should have,) I’ve taken a moment to actually go back and read the “About Madison” page.  To quote myself: “the main purpose of this blog: I am passionate about local food, sustainability issues and wholesome natural cooking.  I think it’s important to know where our food comes from, so I hope to introduce you to different ingredients and options for preparation – all kid tested and brother approved!  I make as many things from scratch as my ability, schedule and pantry allow so this is also a spot where I will share recipes, disasters, personal experiences, political issues surrounding food, friend’s stories and thoughts on food in general.”

I feel as though I’ve gotten a little off track – what with the Christmas-themed December and lack of posts this month.  I love a good story as much as the next person, but I really haven’t given much attention to the “introducing you to new ingredients and options for preparation part” or “political issues surrounding food” or “thoughts of food in general”.

So, after much pondering and procrastination, I have re-focused and will begin sharing one new-ingredient-and/or-political-issue-post each week.  (I think I’ve got to win some sort of prize for “Most Mixed Used of Punctuation in that last sentence, no?)  Anyway, I just wanted to say thanks for sticking with me while my blog, (and quite possibly me) goes through yet another soul-searching-identity-crisis-thing.

We’ve found the same thing with our blog…after a bit of crazy-time, we have to go back to our original reasons to blog and recenter. I’m glad you’re taking the time to do this, as I really enjoy reading your blog!
